dc.description.abstract Corrosion is the deterioration of metals due to chemical and electrochemical reactions. Corrosion is a costly problem occurring in metals and alloys and changes their physical, chemical and electrical properties. Economic loss due to corrosion in Turkiye is about 5% of its gross national income. Most metals are sensitive to water and air and undergo corrosion even under normal conditions. Corrosion occurs when oxygen, humidity and electrolytes are present in the medium. This study investigates corrosion and its reasons in concrete reinforcements. en_US
