Study on septic tank in rural areas, Aspect of the national legal framework based on EPA standards

Abstract

The main scope of this study is to review some aspects of the national technical standard over the detailed design of a septic tank system,focusing on its construction, operation and maintenance,to be appropriate for climatic,geological conditions and the raw material available in Albania. Also,it will be proposed a new concept for the implementation of septic tanks in the best possible way for the benefit of the environment,health,human safety but also economic efficency of their construction and maintenance costs. The thesis proposal for a technical standard of the design and implementation of the septic system is based and closely related to the five functional elements used to perform a closed cycle of waste: Water user/its plumbing node; Individual collection and treatment; Transport ;Semi-centralized for a group of families; Re-use of the sludge after treatment.
