dc.description.abstract In this study, a multilayered shear deformable finite element for dynamic analysis oflaminated composite beams subjected to moving loads is presented. The beam model includesseparate rotational degrees of freedom for each lamina but does not require additional axialand transverse degrees of freedom beyond those necessary for a single lamina. The shapefunctions ensure compatibility between the laminae. Making use of Timoshenko beam theoryand Galerkin method, stiffness and mass matrices for the multilayered beam element arederived. In solution, interfacial slip or delamination between laminae is not allowed.Comparisons between the results obtained by proposed element with available results in theliterature are given to show its validity.
